About The Author

Born and raised in New York City, Cari has been involved in the music industry since the age of 14. As a High School freshman, she worked as an intern for the Red Hot Organization, a non-profit record label that donated its proceeds to AIDS charities. While working towards her Marketing degree at Pace University, she continued to build her music cred by start CMG Artists a management and booking firm. Cari has been representing Cincinnati based Pop/Rock band Oval Opus for the past five years. The band has recently signed a deal with NY based Indie Label ON -Entertainment.

Cari has written for MTV.com and Co-Ed Magazine. She was the Street Team Coordinator for takeoutmusic.com and did College Promotions for Elektra Records.

She head up the Tour Marketing and Event Production department at Indie Label Everfine Records and in 2003 co-founded DecentXposure a music marketing company that helped emerging artists spread their music through ringtones, downloads, compilation CDs and street team marketing.

Cari has spent the last two years keeping track of her experiences in the industry and has wove them together into a fictionalized story about a young, female manager and her band trying to make it in the music industry.
